Ribbon Bio, a growth stage synthetic biology company that specializes in the synthesis of long and highly complex DNA molecules is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager (SAM) to join our expanding commercial team. The candidate will be tasked with maintaining and strengthening relationships with our existing customers based in the US and in select European locations, while working in close partnership with our product, marketing, and customer success organizations to identify, build and nurture new customer relationships that compliment our commercialization strategy and achieve revenue goals.

In this direct customer facing role, the candidate will be pivotal in representing our products, technology, brand, and company culture in our chosen markets. To this end, we are seeking growth minded, customer centric individuals who are self-motivated, team oriented, highly communicative, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, evolving matrixed selling environment built on uncompromising trust, integrity, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage customer relationships. Serve as the primary point of contact for sales related needs. Maintain regular connectivity with the customer base to ensure their satisfaction and to drive portfolio expansion.
  • Leverage the existing sales funnel to engage with perspective customers and drive short term revenue generating opportunities.
  • Contribute to lead generation, qualification and funnel management for mid-term and longer-term opportunities.
  • Proactively identify pre and post sales support resources to complement the advancement and closure of business.
  • Formulate business sales plans that align with strategic commercialization goals.
  • Perform and provide sales forecasting reports to sales leadership and maintain opportunity management within CRM systems.
  • Draft, negotiate and facilitate strategic agreements with global accounts.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct sales experience, preferably selling to mid-size and large, multi-site and/or multi-regional customers in the biopharma market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline (biology, molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, genetics/genomics, genome engineering, etc..), a graduate degree is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 tools, including Powerpoint, Excel, SharePoint and Teams. Comfort and familiarity with both manual and software mediated data entry and management for CRM and quoting activities.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%. Includes both domestic (US) and international (European) travel.
  • Passionate about enabling customer success without compromising personal or professional integrity.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to efficiently problem-solve customer issues via email and phone.
