You will play an important role in designing, deploying, and maintaining the cloud-based systems that power our data pipelines, scientific workflows, and internal/external applications.

You’ll collaborate across software, operations, and scientific teams to ensure our platform is robust, secure, scalable, and compliant with industry best practices. If you enjoy owning infrastructure end-to-end and thrive in an environment where you can influence architecture from the ground up, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-native infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) supporting data pipelines, services, and scientific applications.
  • Develop infrastructure to maintain reproducible and auditable environments.
  • Help build and operate CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement logging, metrics, and alerting across services and environments.
  • Contribute to infrastructure security (identity/permissions, network segmentation, secrets management).
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and scientists to translate operational requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives—vulnerability management, compliance, and secure-by-design practices.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS/GCP/Azure services including compute, networking, storage, and others.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Argo, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices (IAM, secrets management, encryption, hardening) is a plus.
  • Experience in regulated environments or biotech/life sciences is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced startup environment where ownership is expected and impact is immediate.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop recommendations / solutions.

What you can expect if you join our team:

  • Opportunity to crucially contribute to growth of the company within a young, agile, and motivated team.
  • Home office possibilities and flextime working arrangements.
  • Participation in the bonus program and a clear path of your career
  • A dynamic international work environment with a team representing over 25 nationalities.
  • Professional development training opportunities.
  • Ticket for public transport (yearly ticket “Wiener Linien”)
  • The opportunity to grow with the company
  • Coffee, tea, fruits and snacks in the office
  • Lunch offers from Schrankerl partially subsidized by the company
  • Relocation support, if necessary

Annual gross salary starting from EUR 50.000,- depending on qualification and experience.
